The Graduate Program in Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry (PPGFQM), initially named Graduate Program in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, was restructured in 2008 aiming to modernize and bring together two key disciplines to the process of drug discovery and development (DDD), Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry. The PPGFQM is the first postgraduate course in Latin America with such an approach and objectives. PPGFQM is essentially interdisciplinary and contributes to the formation of qualified human resources in academia drug discovery, trying to reverse Brazil's technological dependence on Drugs and Medicines. The research carried out at PPGFQM goes through the stages of new target identification and validation, mechanism of action studies, drug design, and hit-to-lead optimization until preclinical studies. The mosaic of knowledge required to achieve these goals demand continual updating and collaboration with researchers in academia and the pharmaceutical sector.
In this scenario, the Symposium on Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry (ISPMeC) was created as an internationalization activity of the PPGFQM, aiming to facilitate experience exchange between invited international researchers and PPGFQM students and professors, with a focus on the area of Drug Discovery.
In its third edition, ISPMeC will be held remotely and will feature the participation of renowned names from International Science. The Scientific Program has a prominent level, it is worth checking it out. The event is completely free, 100% held in English, and will feature oral communication and pitch for students from all over the country.
Join us, attend the III ISPMeC. We will be happy to have you here.
